Lancelot #2 is live! + Secret Menu Reward
3 months ago – Tue, Jan 06, 2026 at 04:15:08 PM

Hello. This morning we launched Lancelot #2 on Kickstarter, and it funded within the first few hours! That is super exciting.

Whether you've already backed it, or you haven't had the chance yet, I wanted to make sure to offer you a special secret menu reward opportunity: if you leave a comment on the Lancelot #2 Kickstarter expressing your excitement for the series, you'll get a secret menu item with your pledge.

Here's the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/enkidu/lancelot-1-2?ref=1rizxg

With this second issue we are offering something brand new: Heroic Editions. The Heroic Editions of each issue will feature a spot foil logo, individual numbering on the inside front cover, and four pages of bonus content. This campaign has Heroic Editions for both issue #1 and #2 available:

These Heroic Editions are different than the "Collector Editions" from issue #1's campaign. Due to the printing issues I previously mentioned, I won't be able to replicate the Collector's Editions again in the future - at least not exactly the same way. So rather than try to create a facsimile, I decided to create a different kind of special edition - one that I think is way cooler - and I'm offering an issue #1 version just so anyone who likes their whole set to be the same can have a like set. And the bonus content in the first issue Heroic Edition is all brand new!

I hope you dig the new editions, and I hope you like the new issue! Thanks for checking it out.

Lancelot #2 Update!
3 months ago – Fri, Dec 26, 2025 at 09:45:42 AM

Hello. I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season.

A couple days ago I asked if people would like me to go ahead and run Lancelot #2 as it's own campaign, since it is already 100% complete and ready to go. A bunch of you responded, both in comments and private messages, and while the response was not unanimous, enough of you said you'd like me to go ahead and run it - so that's what I'm going to do.

Here's the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/enkidu/lancelot-1-2

We launch January 6th, and of course you can help out by hitting "notify me on launch." I'm running this campaign on my Enkidu Studio profile, which is the same profile I ran the The Knight and the Lion Digest Edition campaign on. You'll see me running more campaigns on that profile as time goes on.

Here's a look at the cover:

More updates soon.

Thanks as always for your support.

All books shipped!
3 months ago – Tue, Dec 23, 2025 at 08:03:54 PM

Hello. As of today the last few packages I had left to ship (of the backers who completed their surveys by early last week) have gone out. I will be checking the Backerkit and I will send out any stragglers after the holidays.

Thank you so much for your support, as always. I have two other things I want to talk about in this update.

The state of Swords of Arthur - I need your opinion!

As you may or may not know, I have charged ahead on production of a number of comics in the Swords of Arthur series. That includes Lancelot, The Knight of the Forest (Perceval), The Lady Who Was the Moon (Lunette), and The Knight and the Faerie Queen (Lanval). I keep changing my mind about how I'm going to publish these books.

The plan has been to launch a big campaign putting all those books into one campaign. It would be a big, epic, huge launch. Here's the thing: because I took two months off running campaigns for the birth of my son (and as it turns out that put me even further behind than I imagined - who knew), if I stuck to that plan I wouldn't be able to launch the big campaign until at least April, maybe later. There are a lot of moving parts and while a lot of pieces are completed, a lot are still in the works and some are delayed. I'm way behind my overly optimistic schedule.

However, Lancelot #2 is already 100% complete. That's right, Enrico finished issue #2 before we even finished fulfilling issue #1. So even though the whole big five series launch couldn't be ready to go for many months, I could launch Lancelot #2 tomorrow.

So here's my question for you: would you rather I go ahead and launch Lancelot #2 in a couple weeks after the holidays, or wait and launch it with the rest of the big Swords of Arthur launch? If there is interest in launching sooner, I will go ahead and do it. The issue is complete so turnaround would be fast. Sound off in the comments, please.

A podcast I love

If you love Arthurian literature as much as I do, there's an awesome podcast I think you should check out. It's called The Matter of Britain Podcast. Each episode host Zach Hudson guides listeners through a classic Arthurian tale, breaking it down and giving important context. It's super entertaining and educational. I consider myself very well read in Arthurian lit and I learn new stuff with every episode. Here's the link. I'm not associated with this podcast in any way I just really like it and I thought you might too.

That's it for today. Let me know if you think I should launch Lancelot #2 next month!

Books have arrived!
4 months ago – Wed, Nov 26, 2025 at 05:48:22 PM

Hello. It took slightly longer than I originally expected, but the books are here, and they look phenomenal. Here's a peek:

The last thing I'm waiting on is the stickers and bookmarks, but those should be arriving next week. I will be sending these rewards out as soon as possible. Right now I'm finishing up fulfilment on Dragon Grit #5, and then this book is next on the list.

I will have more updates as I make progress on fulfilment, and about what is next for Lancelot and the entire Swords of Arthur series. Please let me know if you have any questions.
